Falco’s Finance Manager and longest ever serving employee, Jeanette Barlow, celebrates her 20th anniversary this week!

Jeanette joined Falco back in January 2002 as an Accounts Clerk, before moving to other departments including administration and PA duties, before re-joining the Accounts department back in 2009. Over the course of the next few years Jeanette studied at Newcastle-under-Lyme College and Manchester BBP study centre, undertook 12 separate exams and hundreds of hours of distance learning, before graduating as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2019.

In addition to becoming a Chartered Accountant, Jeanette was shortlisted for both the PQ Magazine Part Qualified student of the year 2018 and newly qualified Accountant of the year 2019.

Furthermore, Jeannette has been at the heart of virtually all our fund-raising campaigns here at Falco, having taken part in the Race for Life, Cancer Research UK Pretty Muddy 5k, McMillan Coffee Mornings and Children in Need, raising thousands of pounds for charity in the process.

Jeanette was presented with her long service award at a champagne presentation morning last Friday.

Jeannette commented “In my 20 years here, I have seen us move to larger premises several times, seen Directors retire and new ones join, seen the Falco product range develop and flourish and projects increase in size from small cycle shelters to large cycle hubs as the cycling boom has hit. But the one thing that has not changed is the enthusiasm and camaraderie that exists between all the staff here. We are a small team, but we work well together, and that’s what makes the job worth turning up for every day”.

Paying tribute, Falco MD Jeremy Green praised Netty’s dedication and hard work, noting “Netty has been our rock over the past 20 years, she keeps an iron grip on everything and keeps us all in check, without her we’d be a rudderless boat! I can’t thank her enough for the support she’s given to me in my role and she just typifies everything that we as a business try to be; supportive, professional and there for the long haul. It’s a fantastic achievement!”.
