Falco is pleased to sponsor yet another local community group, but this time, it’s round one at the new Keatesy’s community amateur boxing academy in Leek!
The not-for-profit academy was opened by professional boxer, Andy Keates, who has put his professional career on hold to fulfil his ambition of getting youngsters off the streets and into the ring to cut anti-social behaviour.
Keatesy’s Boxing Academy opened last month in Cruso Street, Leek and features a wide range of sessions including four to seven-year olds, eight to 11-years olds and 12 and over. The academy also features ladies-only classes as well as mixed adult classes and sessions where parents and children can train together. The centre is open seven days a week with Andy as head coach alongside two other coaches.
Andy, who welcomed Falco’s support added “The boxing academy is a facility which provides boxing relating classes from 4 years. We are affiliated to England Boxing which means we are able to help people progress into boxing as a chosen sport and they have the opportunity to become amateur boxers.
We cater for all abilities and are able to host instructor led classes by qualified England boxing coaches. The boxing club provides fitness, discipline and helps to combat stress.
The money donated by Falco has helped us to buy boxing gloves for the club which were needed. Thank you again”.
Mark Wain, Marketing Manager at Falco added “We are pleased to yet again support a local community initiative. Andy is a professional boxer whose experience, talent and discipline will no doubt provide a positive impact in the Staffordshire Moorlands. In addition to the new boxing academy Falco in recent years has also sponsored a match at Leek Town Football Club, shirt sponsors for Leek Town under 10 girls team, Grow Moorlands Sparrow Park and shelters for Leek CSOB Football Team”.
