Falco has manufactured, supplied and installed two FalcoPod Bike Hangars for Chelmsford City Council, further supporting the provision of secure and accessible cycle parking within the Chelmsford area.
The new bike hangars have been installed at two key community locations, with one unit positioned at Beaulieu Park Sports Area and the other at Beaulieu Square Shopping Centre. Together, the installations provide convenient cycle storage for residents, visitors and local users, helping to encourage cycling for everyday journeys, leisure trips and access to local amenities.
Both FalcoPod Bike Hangars feature vibrant bespoke branding graphics, creating a bright and eye-catching appearance while helping the units stand out within their surroundings. The graphics also enhance the visibility of the cycle parking provision, reinforcing the importance of active travel within the community.
A key feature of the scheme is the dual access system, with both bike hangars offering app and key-based locking options. This gives cyclists the flexibility to open the hangar using either a traditional key or their mobile phone, providing a user-friendly access solution for a wide range of users. The smart access capability also supports easier management of the cycle parking facility, particularly for local authorities overseeing multiple sites.
As part of the project, Falco also constructed a new concrete base for the bike hangar installed at Beaulieu Park Sports Area, ensuring a secure and stable foundation for the unit.
