Falco has recently manufactured, supplied and installed two smart FalcoPod Bike Hangars on behalf of Salford City Council, further expanding secure on-street cycle parking provision within the city. The new hangars were installed on Ash Street and Langham Road, Salford, providing local residents with safe, convenient and accessible cycle storage close to their homes.
Both FalcoPod units were powder coated in RAL 6009 Fir Green, carefully selected to complement the surrounding streetscape while maintaining a strong visual presence. The installations were also enhanced with bespoke branding graphics, reinforcing the Council’s identity and ensuring clear recognition of the scheme within the local community.
Each FalcoPod Bike Hangar can accommodate up to six bicycles, offering high-density, secure cycle parking within a compact footprint. Designed specifically for residential streets where private storage space may be limited, the FalcoPod provides a practical solution that supports active travel and reduces reliance on car ownership.
These particular units feature smart access technology, allowing authorised users to open the bike hangar via their smart device. This keyless system removes the need for traditional keys, fobs or swipe cards, simplifying user management and improving overall accessibility. For local authorities, smart access also offers enhanced control, remote management capabilities and reduced administrative burden.
