Falco Begins the Roll-out of Secure Cycle Hubs for Telford & Wrekin Council
Falco has began the roll-out of over 100 secure cycle parking spaces as part of a new tranche of four cycle hubs installed at key locations across the borough. Pictured here are three of the latest installations located at Rampart Way, Oakengates Station and Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre – with Ironbridge soon entering the competition!
The scheme which got underway this month involves the design, manufacture, supply and installation of four bespoke cycle hubs coupled with associated FalcoLevel-Eco two-tier cycle racks to allow commuters, residents and visitors to quickly and conveniently park their bike whilst on the go.
The two-tier cycle racks are housed within a bespoke 6m x 4m version of the FalcoHub cycle hub for Rampart Way and Oakengates Station and a 4m x 4m version for Wellington Civic Centre, providing secure cycle parking for up to 28 bikes per hub. Each cycle hub is complete with proximity LED lighting, eye-catching Travel Telford branding graphics and powder coating in an Anthracite Grey RAL colour.
The images attached show the first three installations located at Rampart Way – across the bridge from Telford Central Station, at Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre – to the right of the car park entrance, next to the Wellington Town Council building and at Oakengates Station – situated to the right side of the main entrance.
The FalcoLok cycle hub as shown here for Telford & Wrekin Council, is a contemporary cycle store manufactured from a combination of a galvanised steel frame and reinforced safety glass, designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding area. The FalcoHub was developed by Falco’s in house design team to ensure it met the client’s specification including structural calculations so that the whole design meets the UK/European CPR regulations EN1090 and is CE marked.
In addition to the three cycle hubs shown here, Falco has also recently installed secure cycle hubs for a number of other councils across the UK, including a 12m x 3m bespoke cycle hub for Bedford Borough Council incorporating the UK’s first ever cycle hub to feature a smartphone app-based locking mechanism, a 7m x 5m for Stromness Travel Centre on behalf of the Orkney Islands Council, a 11m x 4m bespoke cycle hub for Castle Park Depot on behalf of Leicester City Council and a number of cycle hubs as part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest Mini Holland Programme.
