Home Latest News News Pretty Muddy, Pretty Amazing: Falco Duo Tackle 5K Obstacle Run and Raise £1,100 for Cancer Research UK

Falco was proud to see two of our team members once again take part in this year’s Pretty Muddy 5k charity event in Stoke-on-Trent in support of Cancer Research UK.
Our long-standing Finance Manager, Netty Barlow – who has championed this cause for several years – was joined this time by Apprentice Ruby Owen, as the duo tackled the fun-yet-challenging 5k obstacle course through Central Forest Park in Hanley on Sunday 27th July.
Together, the pair raised an incredible £1,100 for Cancer Research UK, helping to support vital research into cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. From crawling through muddy tunnels to scrambling over inflatable obstacles, Netty and Ruby completed the course with big smiles and an even bigger sense of achievement.
Commenting on the event Netty said “This was the muddiest event so far, but the funniest, and not only did we raise plenty of money, we raised a lot of laughs with our costumes too”.
Furthermore, Ruby added “This was my first mud run and I enjoyed every minute of it, it will certainly not be my last. Being able to fundraise for such an important cause this way makes it so much easier to help a charity close to my heart”.
Falco is committed to supporting charitable initiatives that benefit the community and improve lives. Netty's achievement serves as a shining example of the company's dedication to giving back and making a positive impact. The funds raised by Netty will contribute to Cancer Research UK's vital work in funding groundbreaking research, providing valuable information and supporting those affected by cancer.
In addition, Rob Harper, Falco MD completed the Macmillan Cancer 27 mile Mighty Hike for the third year in a row, further solidifying Falco's commitment to philanthropy and community engagement.
As the company looks to the future, it's clear that Netty' and her Colleagues courageous efforts will have a lasting impact, both within the company and beyond.
