Falco Raises £405 for Cancer Research UK
27-08-2024

We are delighted that Falco’s Finance Manager, Netty Barlow, has (yet again!) raised an incredible £405 for Cancer Research UK, by participating in the Stoke-on-Trent Pretty Muddy 5k ‘obstacle mud run’ event at Central Forest Park in Hanley on Sunday 28th July.

On a sunny Sunday morning in July, Netty Barlow, Falco's dedicated Finance Manager, donned her running shoes and tackled the gruelling Cancer Research UK Mud Run to raise vital funds for a cause close to her heart. The 5km obstacle course, held at the picturesque Stoke-on-Trent park, tested Netty's physical and mental endurance as she navigated treacherous terrain, crawled through tunnels, and splashed through muddy waters.

Undaunted by the challenges, Netty's determination and spirit shone through as she crossed the finish line, covered in mud but beaming with pride. Her impressive efforts were rewarded with a remarkable £405 raised for Cancer Research UK, a charity that has made significant strides in the fight against cancer.

After the event, Netty said “The day was about raising money for such a worthy cause, but it was also about the enjoyment of life as people were raising money to help both those they did and those they didn’t know. All I could hear going around the course was laughter and cheering, which is what made the event memorable for me”.

Netty's participation in the event was met with widespread support from her colleagues at Falco, who were inspired by her bravery and selflessness. "We're incredibly proud of Netty for taking on this tough challenge and raising such a substantial amount for a fantastic cause," said Mark Wain, Falco's Marketing Manager. "Her dedication to making a difference is a true reflection of our company values and we're grateful to have her as part of our team."

Falco is committed to supporting charitable initiatives that benefit the community and improve lives. Netty's achievement serves as a shining example of the company's dedication to giving back and making a positive impact. The funds raised by Netty will contribute to Cancer Research UK's vital work in funding groundbreaking research, providing valuable information and supporting those affected by cancer.

Netty's remarkable accomplishment has inspired her colleagues to get involved in similar fundraising activities, such as the Macmillan Cancer Mighty Hikers, further solidifying Falco's commitment to philanthropy and community engagement. As the company looks to the future, it's clear that Netty's courageous efforts will have a lasting impact, both within the company and beyond.
