Falco has manufactured, supplied and installed a sustainable e-bike and cargo cycle parking facility this month, as part of the Holmfirth Town Centre Access Plan for Kirklees Council.

The scheme forms part of wider improvements to Holmfirth town centre, designed to enhance accessibility, encourage active travel and support more sustainable transport choices for residents, visitors and local businesses. As demand for e-bikes and cargo bikes continues to grow, the provision of secure, purpose-designed infrastructure plays an important role in making cycling a more practical everyday option.
At the heart of the installation is a FalcoZan-180 cycle shelter, finished with sustainable hardwood cladding and powder coated in an attractive Jet Black RAL colour. The shelter has been designed to provide a durable, high-quality and visually sympathetic solution, complementing the surrounding public realm.
The cycle shelter includes three FalcoForce e-bike cycle stands, each featuring an integrated e-bike charging point housed within the stand itself. Together, the stands provide secure cycle parking and charging facilities for up to six e-bikes, enabling users to conveniently charge their bikes while parked.
In addition to the e-bike provision, Falco also installed a dedicated cargo bike stand, allowing the shelter to accommodate up to two cargo bikes. This provides valuable flexibility for users with larger cycles, supporting families, local deliveries and those choosing cargo bikes as an alternative to car journeys.
To further support cyclists, the installation also includes a FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair stand, allowing users to carry out basic maintenance and adjustments on-site. A green sedum roof has also been incorporated into the shelter design, helping to soften the visual impact of the structure while supporting biodiversity and sustainable drainage.
This project demonstrates Falco’s ability to deliver future-focused cycle parking infrastructure that responds to the changing needs of modern cyclists. By combining secure e-bike parking, integrated charging, cargo bike provision, repair facilities and sustainable design features, the Holmfirth installation provides a practical and forward-thinking active travel facility for the town centre.
