The Government’s recently announced Active Travel Innovation Fund, which offers grants of up to £100,000 to small and medium-sized businesses and NGOs, represents a bold step forward in accelerating walking, wheeling and cycling initiatives across England. Falco has donated a new buggy shelter to Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands – a voluntary organisation providing free, confidential support for families across the Staffordshire Moorlands. Home-Start approached Falco to see if they could provide a sheltered solution for the congregation of buggies increasingly parked inside the charity building. The team at Falco jumped onboard and worked together to provide a suitable product that can not only accommodate buggies, but also provide the charity with wheelchair storage and cycle parking too. We are delighted that Falco’s Finance Manager, Netty Barlow, has (yet again!) raised an incredible £520 for Cancer Research UK, by participating in the Stoke-on-Trent Pretty Muddy 5k ‘obstacle mud run’ event at Central Forest Park in Hanley on Sunday 30th July. Netty put her best foot forward and joined hundreds of adults and children to tackle a 5k muddy obstacle course, hurdling over obstacles into piles of mud, weaving through spiders webs, scaling climbing frames, crawling through tunnels, scrambling nets and mud pits and finally racing down an inflatable mud chute! Falco’s Sales Office Manager and second-longest serving employee, Bryan Duggan, celebrated his 20th anniversary last week! Bryan joined in 2003 working in internal sales for street furniture. He then progressed to doing this role externally before being promoted to cover the whole product range with the North of the UK as his territory. He was then promoted to Sales Office Manager which leads both the internal and external sales teams. Two extraordinary Falco colleagues embarked on a remarkable journey on Saturday 22nd July, conquering the challenging Macmillan Peak District Mighty Hike and raising over £1,400 in the process. Braving heavy showers, Managing Director, Rob Harper and Sales Office Manager, Bryan Duggan, fearlessly embraced the challenge ahead – a gruelling 26.7 mile hike through the Peak District National Park – most famous for its rocky escarpments and ridges to mini mountains and rolling moorland. Starting and finishing at Bakewell Showground, the full marathon is a circular route encompassing the many beautiful and dramatic scenes the National Park has to offer.
