The Government’s recently announced Active Travel Innovation Fund, which offers grants of up to £100,000 to small and medium-sized businesses and NGOs, represents a bold step forward in accelerating walking, wheeling and cycling initiatives across England. Falco’s design team has been working closely with the visualisation software company BetaStreets - the developers of the new purpose-built Computer-Generated Image (CGI) design and visualisation tool for use with street design, highways and placemaking. BetaStreets is a design tool which has been developed with the aim of simplifying the placemaking design process and making it accessible to anyone. The app-based tool enables personal high quality visualisations to be created in a fraction of the time it would take using traditional design practices. Falco is delighted that one of its long serving employees has been chosen to represent the main England’s mens pool team at next year’s European Championships. Sales Co-ordinator, Ben Duffield, successfully qualified for England after progressing through the mens England trials in Great Yarmouth back in 2020. Ben, who has been playing pool since aged 11, has represented various teams at local level, before representing his home town of Leek, then progressing onto representing his local county, Staffordshire, at junior level, then further progressing to represent Staffordshire at senior level and now qualifying to represent the mens national pool team at three international events next year. Falco was delighted to have been awarded the Cycle Parking and Infrastructure framework agreement by the NHS’s Shared Business Services and we are pleased to have had this extended. Following a large number of successful installations across the UK’s NHS network, the agreement, which was been tendered to provide best value to NHS related facilities, has now been extended. This framework includes the delivery, supply, installation, management and maintenance of cycle parking goods and services, from bike racks to cycling hubs and everything in between.
