The UK government has recently confirmed a significant funding package designed to accelerate walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure across England — creating opportunities for local authorities, communities and partners to deliver more active travel routes and facilities. In December 2025, Active Travel England (ATE) announced that councils across England have been awarded over £626 million in central government funding to support walking, wheeling and cycling schemes. This multi-year investment is expected to deliver around 500 miles of new and upgraded routes and support an additional 170,000 greener, more active trips per day. Falco has been working with Qi Managed services Ltd to integrate their ‘Dock Lock Charge’ e-bike/e-scooter charging stations within our hubs and hangars. ‘Dock Lock Charge’ goal is to implement a universal, Micromobility EV charging and docking standard, across UK towns and cities. In a move which begins to bring the UK in line with our European neighbours, the UK DfT has updated the rules for all types of road users in The Highway Code to improve the safety of people walking, cycling and riding horses. The changes which apply to England, Scotland and Wales were made to The Highway Code on Saturday 29 January 2022 and include a range of measures to protect and promote cycling and walking.
