Case Studies

Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh was recently enhanced with this addition of some FalcoHarmony covered cycle canopies. The client's brief was to retro fit shelters over existing stainless Sheffield cycle hoops and out of three different options they chose the stylish design led FalcoHarmony. Available in both single and double sided versions, the Harmony shelter roof has robust polycarbonate sheets, plus the steel structure is fully galvanised and in this case subsequently powder coated in the shopping centre's standard RAL colour.

To provide a bespoke solution at Kniveden Hall, the FalcoRondo canopy was modified to give additional height clearance. At this home for the aged there was a requirement to provide a canopy high enough to give coverage for ambulances reversing up to the entrance also in addition, the cantilevered construction meant that there were no supporting legs restricting the ambulances from manoeuvring - in all a stylish but functional solution

The architect had originally specified a FalcoQuarter cycle shelter, however the client decided that this was too tall and imposing and would obscure too much of the windows in this small courtyard. With assistance from Dave Inman, in Falco’s Technical Sales Team, we suggested using the FalcoGamma canopy as an alternative - a design which would give minimal impact on the adjacent offices. The client agreed and was pleased with the final installation which included two bays of FalcoGamma 8m long with A-11 cycle racks and integral wheel gutters. Following hot dip galvanizing, both the canopy and cycle racks were powder coated to RAL 7011 Anthrasite Grey to match the railings and architectural features to create an attractive yet unassuming installation.

This is Fitzwilliam Primary School in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. The brief was to provide a shelter for 20 cycles onto a grassed area keeping the appearance of the shelter with the surroundings. Shown is a FalcoTel shelter with hardwood end walls to match the wooden theme and a steel back wall to blend with the perimeter fencing. Falco also completed the groundworks which included log edging and bark chippings.

Whitechapel Sports Centre - the brief was to retro fit a lockable, clear shelter over the existing cycle stands outside a leisure centre to provide cover and protection. The FalcoLite series 76.3 was chosen with acrylic panels and an integrated acrylic lockable door. The result is a stylish job which integrates successfully into the design led architecture of Whitechapel Sports Centre.

Ten years on and still going strong! This FalcoRondo carport was installed to provide shelter for a special needs mini-bus at Bentfield Primary School. The 6.0m x 2.5m shelter was installed at a special 3.1m height to provide clearance for the school coach. The shelter is powder coated and still looks as good as new today!
