Last month Falco delivered the first batch of FalcoSafe cycle lockers for Phase 3 of the Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) tram system. The contract which runs to 2015, includes supplying cycle lockers to every tram stop on the TfGM Metrolink network and transport hubs. Falco won the contract to supply cycle lockers in 2011 and has been installing lockers on the existing Phase 1 and 2 routes throughout the county. Now as the Phase 3 extensions begin completion, the FalcoSafe lockers are being progressively installed at each station. The lockers have been specially modified to become part of the TfGM BLUC (Bike Locker Users Club), an innovative TGfM cycle locker scheme to promote cycling across Greater Manchester via the transport networks. The design initially for over 200 lockers, enables BLUC users to access their bike, whilst at the same time providing TfGM management with an innovative over ride system to access lockers in case of emergency. BLUC is a cycle parking scheme to encourage people to use their cycles to travel to train, Metrolink and bus stations and town centre locations across Greater Manchester. You can use any BLUC locker within the scheme, so you are not restricted to one particular locker, more information is available at: http://www.tfgm.com/cycling/ FalcoSafe Cycle Locker The FalcoSafe cycle locker is a robust and secure cycle locker unit and comes in two standard sizes - one for cycles and one for mopeds. The cycle or moped is protected within the cycle locker from the destructive effects of vandals and weather. The perforated sides mean that the contents remain visible for security whilst eliminating unpleasant odours through good ventilation. Side wall perforated panels are contoured for extra strength. The individual design is completed with the gable roof; to deter roof access. A huge variety of stylish colour combinations are also available. The cycle is pushed into the cycle locker along a channel up to the cycle clamp. Any number of cycle lockers can be linked together to create mass storage. In addition, the cycle lockers can also be positioned back to back. The great flexibility allows you to choose your own combinations and lengths! The standard cycle locker is suitable for securing with a user’s padlock and with coin return, coin retain and Euro-profile lock options. The cycle lockers come with a hasp and staple as standard for use with a padlock, however other options are available on request including Euro-cylinder integral lock and coin return mechanism. This is the stunning new cycle shelter facility recently designed, supplied and installed by Falco at Mansfield House, Reading University. The cycle shelter forms part of the universities external storage refurbishment programme which also included a series of FalcoLok-300 and FalcoLok-500 bin stores. The recently opened shelter, equipped with surface-fixed Sheffield stands, now provides students with a dedicated  cycle parking facility with room to accommodate up to 40 bikes! FalcoZan Shelters and Stores The FalcoZan range is a neat and simple design of open shelter - ideal for any application. Available in both single and double sided versions, the FalcoZan is a vandal resistant steel cycle shelter or store with optional side cladding in hardwood slats, corrugated aluzinc sheets or other finishes on application. The standard 4m wide shelter has a steel fascia integral to the roof section which also has a rainwater collection/outlet. FalcoZan-180 Cycle Shelter The FalcoZan-180 is the single sided version of the product range. A base module is 3,980mm wide x 2,495mm deep, with a free head height of 2,100mm. The base module can be added - to create a cycle shelter as wide as required, by using standard ‘add-on’ units. The steelwork and roof are hot dip galvanised as standard with an option to polyester powder coat on top of this substrate if required. Falco has recently supplied and installed a series of the high density FalcoLevel two-tier cycle parking systems for Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport! The 218 cycle space facility has been located at each end of the terminal and provides travellers with a dedicated and secure area to park their bicycle. Due to busy operating hours at Heathrow, installation could only take place after 23:00 at night. Therefore Falco's team of installation engineers took up the night time challenge and successfully worked within the parameters of the installation time table. FalcoLevel and FalcoLevel-Pro The FalcoLevel and FalcoLevel-Pro are a high density cycle parking rack designedto house twice as many bicycles as any traditional cycle rack. This is the attractive FalcoSail smoking shelter with a Trau bench recently installed for the T-Systems site based in Milton Keynes. The shelter, which has been powder coated in white RAL colour 9006 adding additional durability, provides employees with a dedicated smoking shelter facility away from the main building. A new ‘artistic' cycle locker project recently took place at the De Schelf primary school in Gravendeel, in the Netherlands. Valtos Architects required an innovative and eye-catching secure store to encourage the use of cycling amongst its student base. Falco responded to this request by taking the traditional FalcoLok design a step further and used trespa wall panels to create a state-of-the-art cycle storage facility. The image attached shows the completed cycle store installation, using a combination of bold colours with the sleek FalcoLok design!   FalcoLok Store Range The FalcoLok is a very versatile range of stores providing a lockable storage facility. Available in a modular range, the FalcoLok design can be supplied in 2,500mm, 3000mm or 5000mm modules - up to any size. Useful for storing a wide range of items such as; cycles, equipment, bins etc, the FalcoLok store is a robust and vandal resistant utilitarian product but with a great design. FalcoLok-250 The FalcoLok-250 is the smallest version of the FalcoLok range. It measures 2,500mm across the front x 3,980mm deep, with a door in the front section as standard (though it is optional to place one in the side). The store has an overall height of 2,250mm and a free head height of 2,100mm. FalcoLok-300 The FalcoLok-300 is a larger variant of the FalcoLok range measuring 3,120mm at the front x 3,980mm deep. The height is the same as for all the FalcoLok products - 2,250mm overall height and 2,100mm free head height. FalcoLok-500 The FalcoLok-500 is the biggest shelter of the FalcoLok family. With a standard module size of 4,990 mm across the front and a depth of 3,980 mm the FalcoLok 500 shelter is a very large equipment/cycle storage housed under a single roof span, without internal supports. Falco has recently supplied and installed a series of FalcoSpan walkway canopies for the Roselands Primary School in Hoddesdon. As part of the primary school's refurbishment programme, Borras construction used the FalcoSpan design to provide a secluded walkway passage between the old school building and the new classroom facilities. The image attached shows the curved FalcoSpan walkway canopies powder-coated in green RAL colour 6005. FalcoSpan Canopy The FalcoSpan series of canopies offers great flexibility when providing an uncomplicated shelter, canopy or walkway. An exceptionally attractive and open shelter, very simple construction and great aesthetics. The FalcoSpan design is useful for a wide range of applications including smoking shelters, walkways, canopies, cycle shelters, general waiting areas, carports and storage shelters - the FalcoSpan can cover every option! The cantilevered design is topped with a robust roof section which contains integral gutters enabling excess water to be discharged at ground level via the supporting uprights.
