Falco took to the design and manufacture, supply and installation of an external bin store for the Think Tank Science Museum in Birmingham earlier this year on behalf of Fitzgerald Contractors. The original FalcoLok-250 design was chosen for its very robust and cost-effective price which was modified to accommodate a green sedum roof. The images attached show the attractive bin store supplied and installed by Falco last month! FalcoLok-250 Bin Store The FalcoLok-250 is the smallest version from FalcoLok store collection. It measures 2,500mm across the front x 3,980mm deep, with a door in the front section as standard (though it is optional to place one in the side). The store has an overall height of 2,250mm and a free head height of 2,100mm. The FalcoLok range is a bolt down application, making it a very easy product to install. The FalcoLok store range is becoming increasingly popular through-out the UK due to the design flexibility, allowing the store to be modified to match any scheme or specification. This is the attractive new cycle shelter addition for St Nicholas Catholic Primary School in Birmingham. The 5m FalcoQuarter cycle shelter was chosen for its great design characteristics and cost-effective price in terms of sheltered cycle parking. Falco designed, manufactured, supplied and installed the new addition last month, which has been equipped with six below ground Sheffield Stands to provide secure accommodation for up to 12 bikes. The image attached shows the new FalcoQuarter cycle shelter powder coated in Jet Black RAL colour 9005. The FalcoQuarter shelter is an ideal product for a wide range of applications including: cycle shelters, waiting shelters, smoking shelters and storage shelters. The FalcoQuarter cycle shelter was chosen because of its excellent design characteristics and cost-effective pricing - in terms of sheltered cycle parking. To provide eight additional cycle parking spaces, the FalcoQuarter was modified with an add-on section to take the total number of cycle spaces to sixteen. Staffordshire County Council has chosen Falco to provide cycle shelters at it’s brand new state of the art Council offices at Tipping Street in Stafford. Following a lengthy design period, the FalcoGamma shelter was chosen for it’s excellent design characteristics and good value for money in terms of covered cycle parking. Falco designed the 132 space cycle park free of charge on behalf of the client and our own teams of highly qualified installation engineers installed the series of canopies to the agreed specifications. The shelters were powder-coated in stylish RAL colour - 9017 Traffic Black, creating a real design statement! FalcoGamma Shelter A design characteristic for this model is the central column that evolves into two upward facing branches. The name Gamma was chosen because, when viewed from the side, the shape of the structure looks like the Greek letter gamma and underlines the design statement that we wanted to make with this new cycle shelter. The new FalcoGamma is available in both double sided and single sided versions. The cycle shelter, with bowed styling, is clad with 4mm thick, robust clear polycarbonate roof sheets. The height of the FalcoGamma is 2.10m, the depth for the single sided shelter is 1.91m and the depth for a double sided shelter is 3.70m, the free height under the gutter is 1.53m and length is 4.00m centre to centre between the stanchions. The shelter can be mounted as a below ground fix or bolted down using  base plates which are bolted on to a concrete pad or prefab concrete blocks. The concrete block is 1400 x 250 x 315mm under the stanchion, smaller stanchions can be provided with prefab Falco concrete blocks. Last month Falco delivered the first batch of FalcoSafe cycle lockers for Phase 3 of the Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) tram system. The contract which runs to 2015, includes supplying cycle lockers to every tram stop on the TfGM Metrolink network and transport hubs. Falco won the contract to supply cycle lockers in 2011 and has been installing lockers on the existing Phase 1 and 2 routes throughout the county. Now as the Phase 3 extensions begin completion, the FalcoSafe lockers are being progressively installed at each station. The lockers have been specially modified to become part of the TfGM BLUC (Bike Locker Users Club), an innovative TGfM cycle locker scheme to promote cycling across Greater Manchester via the transport networks. The design initially for over 200 lockers, enables BLUC users to access their bike, whilst at the same time providing TfGM management with an innovative over ride system to access lockers in case of emergency. BLUC is a cycle parking scheme to encourage people to use their cycles to travel to train, Metrolink and bus stations and town centre locations across Greater Manchester. You can use any BLUC locker within the scheme, so you are not restricted to one particular locker, more information is available at: http://www.tfgm.com/cycling/ FalcoSafe Cycle Locker The FalcoSafe cycle locker is a robust and secure cycle locker unit and comes in two standard sizes - one for cycles and one for mopeds. The cycle or moped is protected within the cycle locker from the destructive effects of vandals and weather. The perforated sides mean that the contents remain visible for security whilst eliminating unpleasant odours through good ventilation. Side wall perforated panels are contoured for extra strength. The individual design is completed with the gable roof; to deter roof access. A huge variety of stylish colour combinations are also available. The cycle is pushed into the cycle locker along a channel up to the cycle clamp. Any number of cycle lockers can be linked together to create mass storage. In addition, the cycle lockers can also be positioned back to back. The great flexibility allows you to choose your own combinations and lengths! The standard cycle locker is suitable for securing with a user’s padlock and with coin return, coin retain and Euro-profile lock options. The cycle lockers come with a hasp and staple as standard for use with a padlock, however other options are available on request including Euro-cylinder integral lock and coin return mechanism. This is the stunning new cycle shelter facility recently designed, supplied and installed by Falco at Mansfield House, Reading University. The cycle shelter forms part of the universities external storage refurbishment programme which also included a series of FalcoLok-300 and FalcoLok-500 bin stores. The recently opened shelter, equipped with surface-fixed Sheffield stands, now provides students with a dedicated  cycle parking facility with room to accommodate up to 40 bikes! FalcoZan Shelters and Stores The FalcoZan range is a neat and simple design of open shelter - ideal for any application. Available in both single and double sided versions, the FalcoZan is a vandal resistant steel cycle shelter or store with optional side cladding in hardwood slats, corrugated aluzinc sheets or other finishes on application. The standard 4m wide shelter has a steel fascia integral to the roof section which also has a rainwater collection/outlet. FalcoZan-180 Cycle Shelter The FalcoZan-180 is the single sided version of the product range. A base module is 3,980mm wide x 2,495mm deep, with a free head height of 2,100mm. The base module can be added - to create a cycle shelter as wide as required, by using standard ‘add-on’ units. The steelwork and roof are hot dip galvanised as standard with an option to polyester powder coat on top of this substrate if required.
