The new state of the art cycle canopies installed at the University of West Scotland provide students with secure cycle parking for up to a massive 90 bikes! The requirement for a dedicated cycle parking facility at the Ayr campus became apparent due to the increasing volume of students travelling to university by bike, but found a lack of parking facilities. The FalcoGamma cycle shelter was the product identified to meet this requirement due to its large span and sleek gull wing design, which was easily capable of accommodating the mass amount of bicycle spaces required. The images attached shows the attractive FalcoGamma cycle shelter powder coated in black with below ground Sheffield stands. Falco are completing more and more projects for universities across the UK and have a complete range of cycle parking and street furniture products designed for education and training establishments. FalcoGamma Cycle Shelter A design characteristic for this model is the central column that evolves into two gull wing upward facing branches. The name Gamma was chosen because, when viewed from the side, the shape of the cycle shelter looks like the Greek letter gamma and underlines the design statement that we wanted to make with this new shelter. The new FalcoGamma shelter is available in both double sided and single sided versions. Cycle Shelter Dimensions The new FalcoGamma cycle shelter is an elegant addition to the constantly evolving Falco cycle shelter range. Width: 4000 mm Depth: 1910 mm Height: 2180 mm Head height: 2100 mm For more information about the FalcoGamma cycle shelter or any other product from our cycle shelter collection, please contact our helpful sales team on (01538) 380080.

Falco have recently been working closely with the architects BDP’s Glasgow Office to provide a solution to their canopy requirements at the second largest shopping centre in Scotland - the new Union Square development in Aberdeen. They were looking for a design led solution to provide multiple use shelters to house cycle parking, ticket machines and also to act as a public weather shelter. BDP chose Falco’s Triangle canopy because of its style, versatility and robust manufacture. Canopy for the second largest shopping centre The Union Square Aberdeen shopping centre has become the second largest shopping centre in Scotland and Falco’s own highly skilled installers worked to very tight deadlines to ensure completion ready for the opening of the shopping centre. Falco installed the Triangle design canopies with glass roof and rear walls for added light to meet the requirements of the client. Falco also supplied Triangle-30 stands in stainless steel underneath the Triangle canopies as well as installing Cima Litter bins from our partners, City Design. Canopies for ticket machines The contract also included the supply of 2 Mini Spok shelters to house existing ticket machines on the side of the main shopping centre building. The opening of the shopping centre proved a great success when 60,000 people arrived for the first day. More about the Triangle canopy The Triangle canopy brings the familiar design led ‘triangle’ theme to the fore and uses a range of materials including stainless steel and powder coated galvanised steel with roof cladding options of aluzinc or safety glass. The aesthetic strengths of the design of the Triangle canopy are matched by high functionality. The canopy incorporates integrated gutters with rainwater being channelled inside the structure and discharged at ground level. Additionally, lighting can be incorporated into the central panel of the Triangle canopy with opaque acrylic covering.
