Falco has recently manufactured, supplied and installed a contemporary secure store for Loughborough University. Having previously installed a series of secure stores and street furniture last year, the new store had to remain co-ordinated and secure in design. Using two bays of FalcoZan-180 side by side with sliding doors at the front created a secure storage unit with wide accessibility. The image attached shows the contemporary new addition with vertical hardwood cladding and double sliding doors. The FalcoZan range is available in two models; single sided and double sided. Although sliding doors are shown here, the shelters are also available door free or with gates. There are numerous cladding options available for the FalcoZan design including hardwood, steel mesh, polycarbonate, safety glass, pierced steel, corrugated steel and hardwood. A base module is 3,980mm wide x 2,495mm deep, with a free head height of 2,100mm. The FalcoZan range can be added to using add-on units, creating a continuous run of shelter as far as required. Loughborough University originally contacted Falco back in 2009 as the requirement for secure cycle parking shelters became apparent due to the increasing volume of students travelling to the University by bike. Falco has since provided Loughborough University with a whole range of cycle parking and cycle shelter solutions and this is the latest example for the Pilkington Library area. The FalcoZan shelter fitted within budget and provided the exact specifications the university was looking for. This robust range of cycle shelters was chosen for it's modularity (capable of being extended in any orientation) and also having a number of locking options including this effective sliding gate, providing a lockable facility to keep bike security to a maximum. Following the successful completion of this first installation and a further increase of students travelling to university by bike, Loughborough University acquired an assortment of FalcoZan cycle shelters across the Universities sites. Since the location of this new cycle shelter was next to a road, the cycle shelter was designed from the university's need to keep the shelter lockable, as with the previous project. To ensure that these gates did not open out wide causing a potential hazard with oncoming traffic, the cycle shelter was designed with sliding gates by Falco's design team, keeping the cycle shelter compact and away from the road. The image attached, taken on a crisp autumn morning, shows the completed cycle shelter installation equipped with toaster rack to accommodate a further 10 bikes. FalcoZan Range of Cycle SheltersThe FalcoZan range is a neat and simple design robust cycle shelter, ideal for any application. Available in both single and double sided versions, the FalcoZan is a vandal resistant steel cycle shelter with optional side cladding in hardwood slats, corrugated aluzinc sheets or other finishes on application. The standard 4m wide cycle shelter has a steel fascia integral to the roof section which also has a rainwater collection/outlet. Single sided cycle shelter The FalcoZan-180 is the single sided version of the product range. A base module is 3,980mm wide x 2,495mm deep, with a free head height of 2,100mm. The base module can be added to - to create a cycle shelter as wide as required, by using standard ‘add-on' units. The steelwork and roof of the shelter are hot dip galvanised as standard with an option to polyester powder coat on top of this substrate if required. As part of the Transforming Our Primary Schools (TOPS) programme, South Tyneside went forward with the proposal to provide a new building for Stanhope Primary School. The site for the new school was to be the existing school site. S G W Construction in Redcar contacted Falco to provide a stylish and robust cycle shelter to blend in with the state of the art designed school building as a way to encourage more students to travel to school by bike. Falco provided Stanhope with various cycle parking and cycle shelter options that fit within budget and matched the exact specifications the school was looking for. The FalcoLite cycle shelter was soon the product identified to meet this requirement due to its robust design and cost effective price! The image attached shows the cycle shelter equipped with stainless steel Sheffield stands to accommodate up to 10 bikes! FalcoLite Cycle ShelterThe FalcoLite cycle shelter is one of Falco's most popular cycle shelter designs and triumphs from its simple, curvaceous shape. As the cycle shelter's design overhangs the entrance of the cycle shelter, it provides extra coverage ensuring all bicycles stay dry with integral gutters ensuring any water egress is kept away from the cyclist. Designed with simplicity and cost effectiveness in mind, the FalcoLite cycle shelter is a design led solution to fit within all budgets. From accommodating 8 cycles in a simple 1 bay unit to providing a mass cycle shelter station, the FalcoLite cycle shelter can be designed to accommodate as many cycles to meet the specifiers' obligations. Available in three distinct variants; single sided cycle shelter, double-sided cycle shelter or cycle parking compound, ensures multiple arrangements to match any space restricted area. The cycle shelter can also be used as a waiting shelter, smoking shelter, teen shelter or storage shelter.
