Following a recent multi million pound Network Rail refurbishment Falco has helped improve the cycle parking provision and bike access to the station with a number of cyclist friendly facilities. Edinburgh Waverley is the second-largest main line railway station in the UK in terms of area and the second busiest railway station in Scotland with a passenger usage of 18.8 million visitors each year. Falco has recently manufactured and supplied a contemporary series of FalcoSystem seating and Salou litter bin for the Charles Dickens Youth Centre in Portsmouth! The Charles Dickens centre is aimed at 13 to 19 years olds and incorporates a number of facilities including a coffee bar, pool table, internet ready PC’s, a MUGA pitch, sports hall, dance and music studio and messy art space. Falco has recently completed the supply and installation of 250 FalcoLevel two-tier cycle parking spaces and FalcoRail cycle canopies for Euston Railway Station! Euston is the UK’s sixth busiest railway station with in excess of 38 million passengers using the station every year. Due to an increasing demand for secure cycle parking spaces, Falco was invited to tender for the contract which included an extra 250 cycle spaces for three different locations within the station to accompany the already existing cycle facilities.    Falco provided full project management for the contract including a free site survey, consultancy, design, manufacture, supply and installation. Part of the installation took place under the cover of moonlight to reduce any disruption caused to the travelling public. Cambridge City Council has installed the first series of FalcoCam cycle stands providing additional secure cycle parking to the City centre! The FalcoCam cycle stand was developed in conjunction with the cycling team at Cambridge which provides a solution to a number of on street issues as well as incorporating as many features a cyclist could hope for.  After previous cycle stand batches, Falco was asked to put a reverse crank into the tube so that the submerged part goes parallel with the ground. This makes installation easier with coring holes and not having to excavate at angles. The new racks have been installed outside the Cambridge University Press bookshop in St Mary’s Street.FalcoCam Cycle Stand Here are just some of the features and benefits of the FalcoCam cycle stand: Provides up to six locking points. Commissioned by the City Council of Hengelo, Netherlands, Falco worked with Dutch designers IPV Delft to design and manufacture four bespoke seating systems for Hengelo city centre, in the district of Overijssel. Street Furniture with Multiple FeaturesThe idea of the project was to design a single piece of street furniture that could consolidate multiple features into one, instead of purchasing and installing separate street furniture items. Based upon the popular FalcoLinea series of street furniture, Falco manufactured four extra large seating systems consisting of three units: a bench without back, a seat with back and planter. The seats are manufactured from hardwood and recyclable galvanised steel with distinctive orange infill panels. Having recently installed the benches in Hengelo, the end result was welcomed by the City Council and members of the public. The four bespoke seating systems work exceptionally well in urban areas such as cities and town centres where space for street furniture items may be strictly limited.
