This is the bespoke cycle hub recently manufactured by Falco on behalf of TransPennine Express, supplied and installed at Huddersfield Railway Station. It provides the West Yorkshire commuters with a complete cycle hub facility including 54 spaces of Falco’s extra secure FalcoLevel Premium+ two-tier cycle parking racks, a FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair station, an information case, LED lighting, branding graphics and seating, all in a spacious purpose built design! Falco also supplied and installed cycle wheel stair ramps at the station to enable cyclists to manoeuvre their bikes up and down steps with ease and access the cycle park conveniently positioned on the platform. The contemporary cycle store is manufactured from a combination of powder coated steel and laminated glass to be sympathetic to the surrounding area and was developed by Falco’s in house design team to ensure it met the client’s specification including structural calculations to demonstrate that the glass would not be affected by the vacuum created by fast trains passing through the station. Additionally a special ‘raft’ designed concrete base enables the shelter to sit over old platforms from the original station built in 1847. The two-tier cycle racks are housed in a bespoke contemporary design of the classic FalcoLok shelter, which feature clean lines through the glass cladding supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The whole shelter is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and then polyester powder coated in RAL 9007 Grey Aluminium. Rainwater is collected via innovative integral gutters as part of the roof system and a bespoke bund ensure that the Yorkshire weather stays out! The popular design has been used across the UK as a secure cycle and waiting hubs including; the capitals first series of community cycle hubs as part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest Mini Holland Programme, a bespoke cycle hub and 32m waiting shelter at Derby Midland Station and recent cycle hub installations at Birmingham International, Dewsbury, Irlam and Upminster Stations. A prominent Bristol city centre building known as ‘The Pithay’ is being transformed into a creative new hub for the burgeoning number of tech and digital businesses in the city. The development represents the biggest speculative office renovation scheme currently being developed in the city.  As part of the ambitious project, Falco was approached by the client to provide a new dedicated cycle hub, capable of securely accommodating 152 cycles utilising our high density two-tier cycle rack. To compliment the cycle racks a convenient FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair station was commissioned, incorporating a number of useful tools along with a cycle pump, allowing employees of the many individual tech businesses to carry out basic cycle maintenance whilst on the go.   Falco provided the client with a free site survey, free CAD design, free rendering graphics to visualise the scheme as well as complete manufacture, supply and installation to final sign off. Moving forward, the two-tier cycle racks  and cycle repair station are designed to be maintenance free providing minimal cost of ownership to the client (only occasional cleaning required) and additionally should there be any unforeseen damage, the modular nature of each structure means that replacing any damaged items is simple to undertake. This is the attractive new array of cycle shelters Falco recently designed, manufactured, supplied and installed for Cambridge Science Park on Milton Road in Cambridge. The client originally contacted Falco with a requirement to provide secure and sheltered cycle parking whilst occupying minimal space. Following a free site visit, the spacious FalcoLite double-sided cycle shelter was identified as the ideal solution to providing maximum shelter coverage without compromising on space.  Utilising the contemporary ‘gull-wing’ style FalcoLite double sided cycle shelter with Toaster cycle stands, the cycle park provides over 100 businesses  with secure, sheltered, cycle parking for up to 32 bikes. These are the FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks Falco recently manufactured, supplied and installed for Amsterdam Police Force last month! The basement to the station was identified as the only suitable and available location to use as a cycle park, but due to the space restriction of the room, as well as the installation of an air ventilation system currently occupying much of the available space, the use of a traditional cycle rack or stand was deemed not appropriate. Following a free site survey, Falco identified the FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack as the most appropriate and user friendly solution to accommodating a maximum number of police bikes within the tight space available. Falco is pleased to announce the installation of the UK’s very first automated cycle wheeling ramp, for ‘Project Angel’ in Northamptonshire, a £53m state-of-the-art development designed to consolidate Northamptonshire County Council’s departments into one integrated purpose built headquarter. The automated bike wheeling ramp known as the ‘VeloComfort®’ is a huge innovation and Falco is once again delighted to bring what is standard Dutch cycling technology to the UK market. These wheeling ramps provide cyclists with the next generation of accessibility and are designed to assist users with manoeuvring their bikes up and down stairs with virtually no effort. This is particularly important where a bike is either heavy or perhaps has a basket or panniers and makes carrying a bike up stairs or even using a traditional wheeling ramp difficult. The VeloComfort® range comes in two patented innovative designs, one for manoeuvring bicycles up the stairs - VeloComfortUp®, and one for down - VeloComfortDown®! Falco supplied and installed 4.7m of both VeloComfortUp® and VeloComfortDown® designed to meet the client’s exact stair dimensions. The VeloComfortUp® is essentially a mini ‘travellator’ or conveyor belt which starts once the integrated sensors detect a bike and automatically stops if the conveyor is completely free of bicycles. The high quality conveyor (kevlar-based) belt runs in a durable, low-maintenance aluminium double-sided channel and is powered by an electric motor. The entrance and exit of the conveyor are aesthetically, functionally and safely integrated into the system, with the electric motor positioned on the side of the conveyor belt. The VeloComfortDown® is a simple and effective non-electric cycle / bike wheeling ramp designed with a gutter brush to reduce the speed of the bike. The gutter brush is made from a high quality, durable and low-maintenance aluminium double-sided channel, which is equipped with brush strip on both sides. The friction of the gutter brush ensures that the bike slows down, allowing the user to determine his/her own pace during the descent.
