As part of the continued roll-out of cycle parking facilities across stations throughout Scotland, Falco recently supplied the UK’s leading two-tier cycle rack to a number of Abellio ScotRail managed stations. Pictured here is the latest architect designed, purpose built £400k cycle hub at Dundee Station. The opening of the new hub, which was featured on the BBC News, provides cyclists with up to 120 FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle parking spaces. Built as part of the £32m transformation of Dundee station in Scotland’s ‘fourth city’ and recently re-opened to the public in July  this year, the facility boasts the latest Falco two tier cycle racks, CCTV, lighting and automatic doors. The East Coast Main Line Station is managed by Abellio ScotRail and has a passenger footfall of 1.8m people each year. The cycle hub was funded by Dundee City Council, TACTRAN and Abellio ScotRail and builds on the great strides being made in cycling in the town, making use of the highly functional FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack to add to the Falco cycle parking at the University and recently installed cycle counter at Broughty Ferry. Moving forward, the FalcoLevel Premium+ two-tier cycle racks and FalcoRail shelters are designed to be maintenance free to provide minimal cost of ownership to the client. These are the new series of FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks recently manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco for the Internationally renowned Addenbrookes teaching and research hospital in Cambridge! Falco installed a series of 258 spaces of the UK’s leading two-tier cycle rack replacing traditional Sheffield Stands enabling a doubling of capacity within the same amount of space. The hospital specified 400mm centre to centre distances to allow for the diverse range of cycles expecting to be parked by staff members. The cycle parking was installed by Falco’s own installation teams and undertaken over a weekend period to reduce disruption to the workings of the hospital and staff. Pictured here is the impressive new cycle parking arrangement, providing an enhanced number of cycle parking spaces and improved security compared to the previously installed Sheffield Stands. Along with Addenbrookes Hospital, Falco has supplied and installed secure cycle parking at many hospitals and health centres across the UK including: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, West London Mental Health NHS Trust, NHS Cobridge Health Centre, Royal Stoke University Hospital and Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Trust. These are the new FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks recently manufactured, supplied and installed for the largest cycle park in Scotland at the new £45m Bayes Centre for data and technology excellence at the University of Edinburgh! The new £45 million Bayes Centre at the University of Edinburgh was officially opened by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, on the 23rd October. Part of the development included a 382 space underground cycle park that also featured showers and changing facilities for cyclists. The university wanted to make the most of the space available and worked closely with Falco to agree upon a design that would allow for the most numbers of spaces within the space restraints of the underground facility. A layout of 362 spaces utilising the UK’s leading two-tier cycle rack, the FalcoLevel-Premium+, was agreed upon to provide double the amount of spaces compared to any traditional series of Sheffield Stands or cycle racks. Falco provided the client with free site surveys, free CAD design as well as full manufacture, supply and installation of the cycle hub. In addition to the cycle park shown here, Falco had previously worked with the university at another site and had provided the FalcoLevel Premium+ as a solution for both enhancing cycle spaces and increasing durability. This is our flagship FalcoLok cycle store looking well at use at Hoe Grange Holidays in Matlock, Derbyshire. Installed last November, we reported back to see if the cycle store was well received by guests and if there was any feedback over the past ten months of use. The FalcoLok-300 was a new addition to the holiday park back in 2017, whose aim was to boost the range of cycling facilities available and promote the large amount of cycling routes surrounding the park, which is located on the South Eastern edge of the Peak District. The timber clad FalcoLok-300 cycle store has been installed with six Sheffield Stands providing holidaymakers with dedicated cycle parking for up to twelve bikes. A spokesperson for Hoe Grange Holidays added, “Our guests have commented on how the Falco store gives our Cycle facilities a very professional vibe and is a great addition to our site, Thanks Falco for a very efficient service and an excellent product”. Hoe Grange Holidays is a Trip Advisor ‘Certificate of Excellence 2018’ holiday park, surrounded by the spectacular hills of the Peak District, located just between Ashbourne and Bakewell. These are the high performance cycle parking systems, designed, manufactured and installed by Falco for Jaguar Landrover at its Solihull plant this month. Following on from similar installations at Watford, Wolverhampton and Whitley plants, this is the fourth Jaguar Landrover site to benefit from Falco’s high quality cycle parking products. Falco installed the UK’s leading two-tier FalcoLevel Premium+ cycle parking system with associated FalcoRail canopies across three separate sites at the Jaguar Landrover Solihull plant, providing employees with secure cycle parking spaces for up to 122 bikes. The project at Jaguar Landrover was made up of three areas across the site: Site 1 – 7m FalcoRail with FalcoLevel-Premium+ to accommodate 32 bikes. Site 2 – 12m FalcoRail with FalcoLevel-Premium+ to accommodate 54 bikes. Site 3 – 8m FalcoRail with FalcoLevel-Premium+ to accommodate 36 bikes. This is Northern Ireland’s first cycle hub installation for software and digital design company, Allstate, located on Mays Meadow in the heart of the capital! The new secure cycle hub addition has been fitted with the tried and tested FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack, providing employees of Allstate with ultra secure cycle parking for up to 80 bikes, all within a spacious, purpose built shelter design. In addition to the cycle racks, the new 11m cycle hub has also been clad with reinforced heat soaked safety glass, fitted with LED lighting and branding graphics using the Allstate corporate design. The two-tier cycle racks are housed in a bespoke contemporary design of the classic FalcoHub shelter, which features clean lines through the glass cladding supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The whole shelter is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and then polyester powder coated in RAL 7021 Black Grey. Rainwater is collected via innovative integral gutters as part of the roof system and a bespoke bund ensure that the Northern Irish weather stays out! The contemporary cycle store is manufactured from a combination of powder coated steel and laminated glass and designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding area. It was developed by Falco’s in house design team to ensure it met the client’s specification including structural calculations to meet the EN 1090 CPR requirements. The popular FalcoHub design has been used across the UK for secure cycle and waiting hubs including; the capitals first series of community cycle hubs as part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest Mini Holland Programme, a bespoke cycle hub and 32m waiting shelter at Derby Midland Station and recent cycle hub installations at Birmingham International, Dewsbury, Irlam and Upminster Stations.
