This month we go to the capital of architecture, the home of food and drink excellence, the birthplace of balsamic vinegar and also a country that has just installed a really smart cycle hub. This month we go the to the middle of the Mediterranean sea, to a beautiful country called Italy. The Italians are best known for their historic culture, religion, art and wine, but we think they should also be known for their great taste in really functional cycle hubs, such as this one, just installed by Falco for Modena City Council. Located in the heart of the City at Modena railway station, this FalcoScandic cycle hub was commissioned by the City Council to upgrade the existing outdoor cycle stands into a secure hub to park up to 60 bikes. The cycle hub makes use of the ultra secure - and Europe’s leading two-tier cycle rack - the FalcoLevel-Premium+. Providing universal cycle parking with multiple locking points, the innovative two-tier cycle rack was the City Councils first choice to provide rail passengers with practical cycle parking. The two-tier cycle racks are housed in the latest FalcoScandic cycle hub, a purpose built shelter offering the perfect balance between design and rigidity. A recent addition to the Falco portfolio, the FalcoScandic is capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions, such as areas where high snow loading and strong winds are a critical issue. This month we travel to one of the worlds most cycling friendly nations. In fact, a country boasting over 12,000 kilometres of cycle path and are the closest rivals to the Netherlands for cycling popularity and immense cycle parking infrastructure. This month we travel to the Scandinavian country of Denmark! Denmark has been a fundamental part of Falco’s customer base and a growth area for a number of years and we are proud to report back on a recent installation at one of the countries leading Universities, a University ranked within the world’s top 50 higher education establishments! The University of Southern Denmark, formerly known as Udense University, is the country’s third largest (and third oldest) university. With over 30,000 students, a requirement for additional secure cycle parking became apparent earlier this year when the availability of cycle parking spaces became non existent. Falco was contacted by the University to provide a series of secure cycle parking with no lifting required for 300 bikes using a traditional cycle rack and shelter design. Following a free site visit and free rendering graphic the University chose the new Falco-DK designer cycle rack combined with the popular FalcoGamma double sided cycle shelter. Rickmansworth Station is the latest transport hub to receive the FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle parking system, providing cycle-rail users with everything they might need as part of their daily commute.

This month we travel to the largest country in Scandinavia, one of Europe’s fastest growing cycling countries and a country with some of the best (and often overlooked) cycle paths in the world! Sweden has been a fundamental part of Falco’s customer base and growth plan for a number of years and we are proud to report back on a recent installation at the countries third busiest railway station. Lund Central Station is a major transport hub and the main rail station in the Swedish city of Lund, the station boasts an annual passenger footfall in excess of 1m. Falco recently manufactured, supplied and installed an extensive array of FalcoLevel-Eco two-tier cycle parking spaces for Swedish rail network property management company ‘Jernhusen AB’. The requirement for a cycle parking upgrade commenced following a sharp rise in cycle-rail users and a lack of secure, universal cycle parking spaces. Following a free site visit, free CAD design, manufacture, supply and installation, Lund Central station welcomed 400 spaces of the high density, low cost, cycle parking system to the stations ‘West Station Square’. Feedback from cyclists to the station have been extremely positive with passengers commenting on the ease to use the upper tier and wide availability of locking points to match different sizes of bikes. This month we travel to the number 1 cycling country in the world (and the birthplace of Falco cycle parking too!), the Netherlands, or is that Holland? ach who knows, let’s just go Dutch! Did you know all Falco cycle stores are universal in design and can be used for a wide range of other purposes, other than just cycle shelters … huh?!? but surely Falco is synonymous with cycle parking? well sure, but check out this smart football equipment store shown here! The Dutch have a great footballing heritage and Falco BV were delighted to have designed, manufactured, supplied and installed a bespoke FalcoLok-500 sports equipment store for the Dutch Professional football club ‘Go Ahead Eagles’ in Deventer. The monster 18m x 4m equipment store was commissioned for the clubs training ground which sits right next to the 10,000 capacity ‘De Adelaarshorst’ stadium. The store has been modified to accommodate both single and double doors to allow for easy access of larger sports equipment, such as goal posts and fitness apparatus. Falco provided the football club with a complete design and installation service including; a free site visit, free CAD design and rendering graphic, the provision of a concrete base, manufacture, supply and installation. The equipment store is available in over ten cladding options. Go Ahead Eagles chose a traditional sustainable hardwood finish, with other finishes available in reinforced safety glass, steel mesh, trespa,  perforated plate, pierced steel and corrugated powder coated steel. These are the ingenious FalcoCrea cycle lockers recently manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco at the Queens Cross Housing Association, Cedar Court, for Glasgow City Council.  Providing secure cycle parking for up to four bikes per cycle locker, in an eye catching and compact design, the new FalcoCrea cycle lockers have been commissioned by the Council for the residents of Cedar Court to benefit from. Each cycle locker features bold, distinctive branding on each side of the unit and strongly promotes cycling to residents of the housing association as an alternative mode of transport. Feedback from residents of Cedar Court has been extremely positive with all cycle spaces being fully booked and a waiting list already in place due to overwhelming demand.
