This is the 'bargain' cycle shelter package Falco recently manufactured, supplied and installed for B&M’s brand new regional distribution centre in Wixams, Bedfordshire! The new development is one of the largest distribution centres in the UK and comprises of a large warehouse, office spaces and ancillary areas, with a floor area of approximately 1 million square ft and a height of 21.5m!  Falco provided the discount chain’s first ever southern distribution centre with two 11m runs of the hugely popular FalcoRail cycle canopy combined with the budget friendly FalcoLevel-Eco two-tier cycle rack, providing employees and visitors with secure cycle parking for up to 200 bikes. Falco provided the client with a free site visit, free AutoCAD design and free rendering graphics to help visualise the scheme prior to order. These are the two new series of cycle wheel stair ramps manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco for Rotherham Council this month! The effective manual cycle wheel ramps are designed to facilitate a cyclist’s journey by providing an easy to use facility to manoeuvre a bike up and down stairs with ease. Falco installed one series of 9m cycle wheel ramps on Fenton Road, leading to Wagon Road and one series of 10.2m ramps on Fenton Road leading to Orchard Flatts Crescent in Rotherham. Powder coated in an eye catching Zinc Yellow, the wheel ramps were installed following a free site visit, free CAD drawing, free rendering graphic and complete design, manufacture, supply and installation by Falco. Falco has installed manual cycle ramps along with state-of-the-art automated cycle wheel ramps throughout the UK, providing cyclists with a convenient way to negotiate flights of stairs with ease. Recent examples include automated cycle ramps for Microsoft in Cambridge and manual cycle wheel ramps for Milton Keynes council. All cycle wheel ramps can be manufactured to any bespoke length and can be configured to meet the requirements of different sets of stairs found across the UK. Falco’s cycle parking project for GWR’s Cheltenham Spa Station is the latest transport hub to receive the FalcoLevel-Eco two-tier cycle parking system,  providing cycle-rail users with everything they might need as part of their daily commute. Two key products of the scheme are the tried and tested FalcoLevel-Eco two-tier cycle parking system and the Falco Rail cycle canopy, which when combined together, create the ultimate cycle park - providing cyclists with high levels of cycle security in a spacious contemporary canopy design. Located North West of the station, next to Gloucester Road,  Falco installed 300 spaces of the value added two-tier cycle rack combined with 39m of single-sided and double-sided FalcoRail cycle canopy, powder coated in an eye catching ‘Black Green’ RAL colour! Cheltenham Spa is only one of hundreds of railway stations to receive Falco cycle parking systems in recent months, with recent installations also including over 100 stations for Abellio ScotRail, a series of stations for TransPennine Express and Virgin West Coast Mainline TOCs. Last month Falco began the rollout of passenger waiting shelters and cycle racks to a series of ferry terminals across the Scottish coast for Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac). The contract oversees the manufacture, supply and installation of bespoke waiting shelters and compact cycle parking systems to a number of ports on the CalMac ferries network as part of a customer experience upgrade programme. Falco has been working closely with CalMac Ferries over the past two years to provide solutions on internal and external upgrades at ports with a view to making passenger experiences more enjoyable. The project enhances the customer facilities at forty facilities for new cycle, waiting and ticket validation shelters. With cycle tourism numbers increasing at such locations, there was a real need to improve facilities for these passengers and CalMac were keen to work with Falco to help achieve their goal. The project builds on the initial installation at Ullapool Harbour back in 2017, where Falco installed a bespoke 5m x 4m passenger waiting shelter and associated cycle stands. Falco provided CalMac Ferries with support and guidance in relation to both ferry and port cycle parking solutions and has hosted workshops, met with key stakeholders and carried out numerous site visits in order to ensure that the proposed shelters met the customer’s specification.  To date, Falco has manufactured bespoke reinforced glass shelters at a number of ferry terminals including: Kilchoan Tayinloan Campbeltown Mallaig Craignure Gigha Rhubodach The bespoke passenger waiting shelters are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and EN 1090 CE Mark ready to withstand the traditional Scottish weather! This month we go to the capital of architecture, the home of food and drink excellence, the birthplace of balsamic vinegar and also a country that has just installed a really smart cycle hub. This month we go the to the middle of the Mediterranean sea, to a beautiful country called Italy. The Italians are best known for their historic culture, religion, art and wine, but we think they should also be known for their great taste in really functional cycle hubs, such as this one, just installed by Falco for Modena City Council. Located in the heart of the City at Modena railway station, this FalcoScandic cycle hub was commissioned by the City Council to upgrade the existing outdoor cycle stands into a secure hub to park up to 60 bikes. The cycle hub makes use of the ultra secure - and Europe’s leading two-tier cycle rack - the FalcoLevel-Premium+. Providing universal cycle parking with multiple locking points, the innovative two-tier cycle rack was the City Councils first choice to provide rail passengers with practical cycle parking. The two-tier cycle racks are housed in the latest FalcoScandic cycle hub, a purpose built shelter offering the perfect balance between design and rigidity.
