Symmetry Park Cycle Shelters
19-11-2025
Eco-Friendly Cycle Parking & Bin Store Solution Delivered at “Symmetry Park” – One of the UK’s Flagship Logistics & Industrial Park Developments

Falco was commissioned to design, manufacture, supply and install a comprehensive external infrastructure package across Units 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 at the Symmetry Park logistics development. The scope included both high-capacity cycle parking, covered bin store solutions and bespoke plant enclosures tailored to serve the multiple occupiers and reflect the premium, sustainable specification of the estate. With the logistics park being a leading-edge, high-profile development, there was a clear requirement for external structures that were not only functional and durable, but also matched the architectural and sustainability ambitions of Tritax Symmetry. The site demanded assets that would perform over the long term, require minimal maintenance, and visually tie into the development’s industrial aesthetic and green credentials. Falco installed the flagship FalcoQuarter cycle shelter at each of the five units, giving each occupier dedicated, weather-protected cycle parking. In parallel, a robust FalcoLok-250 bin store covered system was installed at each location to consolidate waste and recycling facilities in one discreet, but accessible structure. In addition Falco produced special plant enclosures in varying sizes to suit each Unit. Each installation was manufactured in galvanised steel with premium FSC® certified external cladding and installed with full fixings and anchorage designed to suit the site’s concrete hard-standing and landscaping finishes. For this scheme, Falco’s in-house design team worked closely with the client to configure the unit specifically for waste and recycling use within the busy estate. This project further strengthens Falco’s long track record of delivering high-quality storage and cycle parking solutions for some of the UK’s most significant commercial and industrial developments. Falco Begins the Roll-out of Secure Bike Hangars Across Shrewsbury Town Centre

Falco has begun the roll-out of secure cycle parking across Shrewsbury Town centre, with the installation of the first phase of Shrewsbury Moves branded cycle hangars on behalf of Shrewsbury Town Council and the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan Partnership. The scheme, funded through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), will see a total of 15 secure FalcoPod bike hangars installed at convenient locations across the town. The first five hangars are already in place, including sites at Fish Street, Market Hall, St Chad’s, St Julian’s and Roushill, with a further ten installations planned over the coming months. In addition to the first five, a e-Cargo bike hangar has also been installed at Rowley’s House, providing secure, sheltered cargo bike storage.  Following the successful opening of the first units, the new hangars have already proved to be a huge success, with the majority of available spaces now fully subscribed. Each unit provides secure, weather-protected storage for up to six bicycles and features full Shrewsbury Moves branding, smartphone-controlled access, and durable construction designed for long-term public use. The hangars are operated through a subscription-based model, allowing residents to reserve a space via monthly or annual payment options, while the unit located outside Shrewsbury Market Hall offers flexible “pay-as-you-go” access. The initiative forms part of the wider Shrewsbury Moves strategy – a 10-year plan to transform the way people move around the town by prioritising pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport over private cars. The partnership’s goal is to reduce motor traffic, cut emissions, and improve air quality and safety within the town centre, making Shrewsbury a cleaner, healthier, and more accessible place to live and visit. Falco is delighted to support the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan Partnership in achieving these active travel ambitions, providing residents with convenient, secure, and sustainable cycle parking that encourages more people to travel by bike. Operated and managed through Falco’s integrated service—covering everything from installation to rental management and maintenance - these hangars are at the heart of efforts to encourage cycling as a viable, everyday travel option. Manufactured from durable steel and engineered for maximum security, the FalcoPod is fitted with a high-security lock with newly upgraded hardened steel cylinder and features Sold Secure Diamond accreditation. The latest generation of FalcoPods can also be supplied with smart technology, such as app-based access, internal LED lighting and e-bike charging points, to further enhance user convenience. This latest roll-out across Shrewsbury demonstrates the council’s continued commitment to providing residents with high-quality, secure cycle parking, while reinforcing Falco’s position as a trusted partner for local authorities looking to encourage active travel. Ipswich Hospital NHS Cycle Hub

Cycle Smart: FalcoHub Transforms Active Travel at Ipswich NHS Hospital with Smartphone App Access

Falco is delighted to announce the completion of two major new cycle parking facilities at Ipswich Hospital, part of the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. Following the successful delivery of a similar scheme at Colchester Hospital in June, this latest installation further demonstrates the Trust’s commitment to sustainable travel for staff, patients and visitors. For Ipswich, Falco designed, manufactured, supplied and installed two FalcoHub cycle hubs, each measuring 8m x 6m and providing space for 72 bicycles using the tried-and-tested FalcoLevel Eco two-tier racks. Together, the shelters deliver a total of 144 secure cycle parking spaces. Each hub has been enhanced with a range of additional features, including integrated LED lighting and the FalcoSmart access control system - a smartphone-based solution providing secure and convenient entry for authorised users. This smart technology offers the Trust greater control over access while creating a modern, user-friendly facility. As with Colchester Hospital, Falco provided a turnkey service, carrying out all groundworks as well as manufacture, supply and installation, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from start to finish. The hubs were finished to a high specification, including: Powder coating in RAL 6005 Moss Green Full glass cladding with bespoke graphics applied Integrated LED lighting FalcoSmart phone-based access control system This latest project not only enhances sustainable travel options for Ipswich Hospital but also builds on the success of Colchester, creating a consistent and modern cycle parking provision across the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust estate. As mentioned above, the cycle hub incorporates mobile app technology whereby users are able to download an ‘app’ to their mobile or smart device and once enabled by Falco’s system, the user can open the cycle hub simply by pressing the app. Working on a short-range wireless communication interface, an app-based system brings a number of benefits to all parties:   • For users, it will offer a smarter option - no more keys and the associated costs.   • For the client it offers data reporting – the back office allows reporting data including number of uses, times of use and other important information   • For Falco it will be simpler and more eco-friendly – less administration and less paper. A further benefit to clients using the FalcoSmart Okey electronic lock concept is that it can also be integrated into hubs and other cycle stores, so for instance a local authority which has a network of both bike hangars and cycle hubs can give users access to their local bike hangar to pick up their bike for the morning commute and then enable them to use the same app to access the central bike hub at their local station. For more information regarding the cycle hub scheme at Ipswich Hospital or any other product from our cycle parking and shelter portfolio, please contact our helpful sales team on 01538 380080.
