Falco has manufactured, supplied and installed two FalcoPod Bike Hangars for Chelmsford City Council, further supporting the provision of secure and accessible cycle parking within the Chelmsford area. The new bike hangars have been installed at two key community locations, with one unit positioned at Beaulieu Park Sports Area and the other at Beaulieu Square Shopping Centre. Together, the installations provide convenient cycle storage for residents, visitors and local users, helping to encourage cycling for everyday journeys, leisure trips and access to local amenities. Both FalcoPod Bike Hangars feature vibrant bespoke branding graphics, creating a bright and eye-catching appearance while helping the units stand out within their surroundings. The graphics also enhance the visibility of the cycle parking provision, reinforcing the importance of active travel within the community. A key feature of the scheme is the dual access system, with both bike hangars offering app and key-based locking options. This gives cyclists the flexibility to open the hangar using either a traditional key or their mobile phone, providing a user-friendly access solution for a wide range of users. The smart access capability also supports easier management of the cycle parking facility, particularly for local authorities overseeing multiple sites. As part of the project, Falco also constructed a new concrete base for the bike hangar installed at Beaulieu Park Sports Area, ensuring a secure and stable foundation for the unit. Designed to provide secure cycle storage within a compact footprint, the FalcoPod Bike Hangar is ideally suited to public spaces, residential areas, leisure facilities and local centres where high-quality cycle parking is required. This latest installation demonstrates Falco’s ability to deliver complete bike hangar solutions, from groundwork and installation through to branding and smart access integration. More information about the smart app-based locking system can be found here. For more information about the scheme here at Chelmsford, contact our helpful sales team on 01538 380080.
Falco has manufactured, supplied and installed 32 FalcoLevel-Eco two-tier cycle parking spaces for Cheltenham General Hospital NHS. The new cycle parking area is located to the right of the Chedworth Surgical Unit, providing secure and space-efficient cycle parking for staff, visitors and hospital patients. By using a two-tier system, the installation maximises cycle parking capacity within the covered compact footprint, helping to make best use of the available space on site. The FalcoLevel-Eco is a cost-effective two-tier cycle parking solution designed for projects where high-capacity cycle parking is required while keeping budget considerations in mind. The system allows bicycles to be parked on both the upper and lower levels, helping sites such as hospitals, universities, transport hubs and commercial developments increase cycle parking provision without requiring a large amount of additional space. As with all FalcoLevel two-tier systems, the upper rack is supported by gas strut assistance, helping users lift and lower bicycles more easily when parking on the upper level. The design also includes secure locking points and U-profile wheel gutters to help keep bicycles stable and organised. This latest installation demonstrates Falco’s continued experience in delivering practical cycle parking solutions for healthcare environments. By providing secure and accessible cycle parking, Cheltenham General Hospital is helping to support active travel and encourage cycling as a convenient and sustainable transport option for those travelling to and from the site. Falco continues to work with NHS sites and public sector organisations across the UK, delivering cycle parking infrastructure from initial design and manufacture through to supply and professional installation. The new cycle hub provides a secure and highly visible cycle parking facility at a key local transport interchange, helping to support active travel and encourage more integrated journeys by bike and public transport. With its reinforced glass cladding and bold visual appearance, the hub offers a bright, open and accessible environment for cyclists while maintaining a strong level of security. The FalcoHub has been equipped with LED lighting to improve visibility and usability, while secure access provides reassurance for users leaving their bicycles at the interchange. Falco has successfully completed the design, manufacture and installation of a high-capacity cycle parking scheme for the University of Oxford’s Global Health Building in Headington. The installation features FalcoLevel-Premium+ XL two-tier cycle racks, designed to maximise cycle parking provision within a compact internal space. In total, the scheme accommodates up to 150 bicycles, helping to support the University’s active travel infrastructure and provide secure, efficient cycle parking for building users. For this project, the FalcoLevel-Premium+ XL system was configured with Sheffield Stands on the lower level instead of traditional lower cycle channels. This provides a flexible and familiar parking option at ground level, while the upper tier delivers additional capacity through the premium assisted two-tier system. The FalcoLevel-Premium+ upper racks are designed to provide a smooth and user-friendly experience, with premium handles and gas strut assistance helping to make parking a bicycle on the upper level easier and more controlled. This makes the system particularly suitable for busy campus environments where durability, accessibility and ease of use are essential. As part of the scheme, Falco also installed two e-bike charging arms, enabling up to four e-bikes to be charged while parked at the Sheffield Stands on the lower level. Finished in a distinctive bright green, the charging arms add valuable e-mobility functionality to the cycle park, helping to meet the growing demand for electric cycle provision. This latest installation follows a number of previous Falco projects for the University of Oxford, including e-bike cycle parking at the Castle Mill Graduate Housing Complex and smart cycle infrastructure designed to support active travel and e-mobility across the University estate. The Global Health Building project highlights Falco’s ability to deliver tailored cycle parking solutions for higher education environments, combining high-capacity two-tier parking, Sheffield Stand provision and integrated e-bike charging within one carefully designed installation. Falco continues to work with universities, local authorities, transport operators and commercial clients across the UK to deliver cycle parking schemes that support sustainable travel and respond to the changing needs of modern cyclists.
This month, Falco manufactured, supplied and installed a bespoke 10m x 4.5m cycle hub and mobility store for Penzance Bus Station in Cornwall, providing secure, high-quality cycle parking and storage facilities at a key local transport location. The new structure has been designed to serve two distinct functions within one integrated unit. The front section forms the secure cycle hub, constructed using reinforced safety glass to create a bright, visible and accessible cycle parking facility. The rear section provides a dedicated mobility store, finished with blue profiled Aluzinc cladding to create a durable and secure enclosed storage area. Access to the cycle hub is provided via a single door at the front of the structure, while the mobility store is accessed separately through double doors at the rear. This layout ensures that both areas operate independently while remaining part of one cohesive installation. The cycle hub accommodates up to 30 bicycles using FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks, maximising capacity within a compact footprint. The FalcoLevel-Premium+ is designed to provide a smooth and user-friendly cycle parking experience, making it ideal for transport hubs and other high-demand environments where efficient cycle storage is essential. To further support cyclists, the hub has also been equipped with a FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair stand, allowing users to carry out basic maintenance and adjustments on-site. LED lighting has been incorporated within the cycle hub to improve visibility, usability and security for those accessing the facility throughout the day. A key feature of the project is the green sedum roof installed across the full structure. This helps soften the visual impact of the hub, supports biodiversity and contributes to a more sustainable approach to public realm infrastructure. The entire structure, including the FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair stand, has been powder coated in an attractive light blue RAL colour, creating a bright and distinctive finish that complements the surrounding environment. Falco has manufactured, supplied and installed a sustainable e-bike and cargo cycle parking facility this month, as part of the Holmfirth Town Centre Access Plan for Kirklees Council. The scheme forms part of wider improvements to Holmfirth town centre, designed to enhance accessibility, encourage active travel and support more sustainable transport choices for residents, visitors and local businesses. As demand for e-bikes and cargo bikes continues to grow, the provision of secure, purpose-designed infrastructure plays an important role in making cycling a more practical everyday option. At the heart of the installation is a FalcoZan-180 cycle shelter, finished with sustainable hardwood cladding and powder coated in an attractive Jet Black RAL colour. The shelter has been designed to provide a durable, high-quality and visually sympathetic solution, complementing the surrounding public realm. The cycle shelter includes three FalcoForce e-bike cycle stands, each featuring an integrated e-bike charging point housed within the stand itself. Together, the stands provide secure cycle parking and charging facilities for up to six e-bikes, enabling users to conveniently charge their bikes while parked. In addition to the e-bike provision, Falco also installed a dedicated cargo bike stand, allowing the shelter to accommodate up to two cargo bikes. This provides valuable flexibility for users with larger cycles, supporting families, local deliveries and those choosing cargo bikes as an alternative to car journeys. To further support cyclists, the installation also includes a FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair stand, allowing users to carry out basic maintenance and adjustments on-site. A green sedum roof has also been incorporated into the shelter design, helping to soften the visual impact of the structure while supporting biodiversity and sustainable drainage.
