Falco has begun the roll-out of secure cycle parking across Shrewsbury Town centre, with the installation of the first phase of Shrewsbury Moves branded cycle hangars on behalf of Shrewsbury Town Council and the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan Partnership. The scheme, funded through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), will see a total of 15 secure FalcoPod bike hangars installed at convenient locations across the town. The first five hangars are already in place, including sites at Fish Street, Market Hall, St Chad’s, St Julian’s and Roushill, with a further ten installations planned over the coming months. In addition to the first five, a e-Cargo bike hangar has also been installed at Rowley’s House, providing secure, sheltered cargo bike storage.  Following the successful opening of the first units, the new hangars have already proved to be a huge success, with the majority of available spaces now fully subscribed. The hangars are operated through a subscription-based model, allowing residents to reserve a space via monthly or annual payment options, while the unit located outside Shrewsbury Market Hall offers flexible “pay-as-you-go” access. Falco is delighted to be working with the West London Council to roll-out their next phase of residential bike hangars, providing convenient on-street cycle parking for resident use. The London Borough of Ealing identified a significant demand for secure, reliable bike storage within the borough. Many residents do not have access to private bike storage, and this lack of secure parking has often deterred people from cycling, especially in urban areas where bike theft is a common concern. To support the uptake of cycling and improve overall sustainability, the borough decided to invest in a public bike hangar scheme to provide residents with a secure, affordable option for storing their bikes. Located at key residential areas across the Borough, Falco manufactured and installed a series of 46 FalcoPod bike hangars this month, providing six on-street cycle parking spaces per bike hangar, whilst only utilising one car parking space. Located in the heart of East London, the Shoreditch Trust is a vibrant community hub that supports local residents, businesses, and visitors. This is the bespoke bus shelter Falco manufactured, supplied and installed for Millgate Car Park in Thirsk last week, on behalf of North Yorkshire Council. The 5m x 1m bus shelter is based on the traditional FalcoLok design, complete with open front, perch seat, branding graphics, safety glass cladding and a powder coated finish. The client originally contacted Falco to provide a simple and effective bus shelter solution, suitable for a busy market town centre location. Falco provided the client with a free site visit, free HD rendering graphics to help visualise the proposed design and free AutoCAD drawings. The installed shelter is a bespoke contemporary design of the classic FalcoLok shelter, which features clean lines through the glass cladding and supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The steelwork is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and also meets UK structural design laws with EN 1090 accreditation. Rainwater is collected via innovative integral gutters as part of the roof system and a bespoke bund ensure that the cycle hub is weather proof! Millgate is an 85 space, 24 hour, car park located on Marage Road, located in the busy market town of Thirsk.
