Falco recently designed, manufactured, supplied and installed a robust FalcoLok-600 bin store at Tritax Symmetry Park – one of the UK’s flagship logistics and industrial park developments. The bespoke unit, measuring 6m x 4m, provides a secure and accessible waste management facility for the site’s occupiers. Finished in durable steelwork and clad in FSC®-certified hardwood slats, the bin store complements the high-quality, sustainable architecture of the wider development while ensuring long-term functionality and visual appeal. The untreated hardwood and galvanised steel combination offers little to no maintenance to the end client once the site is handed over. The modular build up of the product future proofs the installation, should the product need extending in the future. In addition, replacement parts are available at a fraction of the cost of a brand new facility should it suffer from any accidental damage. Access is provided via a wide double-door arrangement, allowing easy manoeuvring of waste containers while keeping the store secure and enclosed when not in use. The FalcoLok-600 series is one of the UK’s most versatile storage systems, available in a wide range of lengths and depths to accommodate bins, recycling facilities, bicycles, or general equipment. For this scheme, Falco’s in-house design team worked closely with the client to configure the unit specifically for waste and recycling use within the busy estate. Falco has completed the roll-out of a new tranche of cycle parking facilities across East Midlands Railway’s Uttoxeter, Boston and Long Eaton stations. The scheme which got underway at the start of this year involved the manufacture, supply and installation of a number of cycle parking facilities with associated shelters to allow commuters and visitors to securely park their bikes whilst on the go. Two key products of this tranche of the East Midlands Railway scheme includes the open and spacious FalcoZan-180 cycle shelter and the UK’s leading FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack, providing mass, sheltered and secure cycle parking across the network. To date, Falco has supplied the East Midlands Railway network with the following cycle parking infrastructure: Station Facility Long Eaton FalcoZan-180 cycle shelter with FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks to securely accommodate 36 bikes.   Uttoxeter FalcoZan-180 cycle shelter with with FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks to securely accommodate 18 bikes.   Boston Bespoke FalcoLok secure store with FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks to accommodate 16 bikes.   The FalcoLevel-Premium+ as installed at all three East Midlands Railway stations, is the UK’s most user friendly two-tier cycle parking system which makes use of both steel and aluminium to create a significant reduction in noise pollution and a much smoother transition of the upper tier. The FalcoZan-180 shelter, as installed at two stations, is a straightforward two-tier cycle rack shelter manufactured from a combination of hot-dip galvanised steel and sustainable hardwood slats.
