As the end of another year draws to a close, we thought we’d include a recap on some of the larger Falco projects undertaken  during what has been one of our most successful years ever! Listed below are just a few projects, some of which are the largest cycle parking infrastructure projects ever seen in the UK:

The UK’s Largest Cycle Hub at Cambridge Station Incorporating 3,000 Cycle Parking Spaces

The UK’s largest and most prestigious cycle hub opened its doors on the 27th June this year providing a state-of-the-art cycle parking facility to commuters and tourists within the city. Boasting over 3,000 secure cycle parking spaces over three separate floors, utilising the flagship FalcoLevel-Premium two-tier cycle rack. Cambridge CyclePoint is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is free of charge to use!

Scotland’s Largest Cycle Innovation Plan

The beginning of the new year saw the start of ScotRail’s Cycle Innovation Plan with the first tranche being rolled-out across Abellio’s franchised network of over 300 stations across Scotland. The scheme, which got underway in July 2015, involves the surveying of stations, proposing solutions and the manufacture, supply and installation of cycle parking systems to help implement Abellio ScotRail’s cycling strategy.

The UK’s First Series of Community Cycle Hubs as Part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest Mini Holland Programme

The first four state-of-the-art cycle hubs have been installed marking a milestone for cyclists and pedestrians who commute within the London Borough of Waltham Forest. In a ‘first’ for the capital, a network of eight cycle hubs will be installed as part of the TfL funded Mini Holland programme which aims to boost the number of cyclists and pedestrians across the whole Borough.

Three Secure Cycle Hubs for Virgin Trains

Falco manufactured and installed a series of secure cycle hubs for three Virgin Train West Coast stations; Birmingham International Station, Rugby Station and Preston Station. All three hubs feature the latest FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle parking system, the latest FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair stand and seating. Birmingham International Station also received additional facilities including a display case, LED lighting, Paxton Control System and automatic sliding doors all inside a Falco purpose built cycle hub with reinforced glass panels.

Secure 600 Space Cycle Hub for Reading Station

Working with Reading Borough Council, Reading Station was kitted out with a complete cycle hub facility, these include 600 extra secure FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle parking spaces, spacious FalcoRail cycle canopies, a FalcoFix cycle repair stand, FalcoBoost public cycle pump and seating. The new facility is situated on the northern side of the newly refurbished CrossRail Reading Station, off Vastern Road and is fully lit and 100% sheltered.

Funky Bespoke Cycle Hub for Schiphol North Bus Station

Falco provided a bespoke cycle hub for Schiphol North Bus Station as part of a €31m project, by manufacturing and installing secure cycle parking spaces inside a purpose built hub with branded vinyl graphics. The hub compliments a 1940’s London World War 2 aircraft hangar which has been transformed into a state-of-the-art transport hub.

Carlsberg City Receives 2,500 Secure Cycle Parking Spaces

Falco manufactured and installed 2,500 two-tier cycle parking spaces for a large redevelopment known as ‘Carlsberg City’ next to Copenhagen City Centre. Built on the former site of the famous brewer ‘Carlsberg’, the development will consist of housing, shops, offices, schools, a leisure centre and park, all keeping in harmony with the historical listed buildings and surrounding grounds. The new cycle parking facility will be used by the expected 10,000 residents and 800 students once completed.
